This is one of my favorite leadership quotes. The idea that a team would be so intrinsically motivated to complete a goal they forget where the objective actually came from. To build and motivate a team to this level is difficult. To me, this is the definition of true leadership.

Sir, I appreciated your article on submarine leadership lessons. I am an EMCS(SS) with almost twenty years in. I retire in a couple more and I am interested in pursuing a career in leadership coaching and team building. I am getting ready to start taking classes en route to a leadership degree.
